Hayle Beaches at low tide, Hayle’s multiple beaches – Hayle Towans, Black Cliff, Mexico Towans – combine to form one vast expanse of sand which stretches several miles from the town itself to the mouth of the Hayle estuary and beyond. Because of its size, the beach rarely becomes overcrowded.

Hayle Beaches

Hayle estuary is an important area for wildlife, and is an excellent spot for bird watching, particularly along the South West Coast Path.

Hayle holiday cottages provide self catering accommodation to visitors looking to holiday in Cornwall. Nearby holiday cottages in St Ives (7 miles from Hayle Towans by road) and Penzance (9 miles) offer further self catering options.

The beaches can be accessed at various points, with several car parking options. Facilities, including toilets and cafs, are provided at Hayle Towans, to the north end of the sands. Lifeguards patrol the beaches from May to September. Dogs are not permitted from Easter to October (Mexico Towans excepted).

  1. Container cafe nestled in the Dunes of St.Ives Bay.Proper Job organic coffee, burgers, wraps, salads, homemade cakes and Roskilly’s ice cream. Great views!

  2. The Bluff Inn is a Caf, Bar & Grill and offers a bright, comfortable and relaxing environment where the whole family can get together for drinks, breakfast, lunch or dinner. Especially popular with kids are the Seaside Squad breakfasts. And with a stunning view overlooking St Ives, you might even spot the dolphins playing in the bay while you’re there.
