Tolcarne Beach is situated between Great Western and Lusty Glaze beaches on the north coast of Newquay, Cornwall; the largest of four beaches which, combined, cover over a mile of glorious sands at low tide.
Surrounded on three sides by high cliffs, Tolcarne is a sheltered, north-west-facing beach. Like Newquay’s other fine beaches it provides ideal conditions for both families and surfers, though access can be difficult. The beach can be accessed at low tide via Great Western Beach but otherwise access is via demanding cliff steps, so not suitable for all.
Lifeguards patrol the beach during the summer and facilities include a shop, watersports hire and tuition, cafés, beach huts and toilets. There is no car park but Newquay town centre is a very short walk away.
