Porth Joke Beach, which is sometimes known as Polly Joke Beach, is a sandy beach nestling in an attractive, narrow cove between Kelsey Head and Pentire Point West headlands. This quiet, relatively little-known beach is only 5 miles from the bustling town of Newquay, Cornwall.

Information

Porth Joke Beach

Porth Joke is a north west-facing beach which at low tide reveals rock pools and caves. It sits between the more popular beaches of Holywell Bay and Crantock.

Holiday cottages in Crantock and Holywell Bay offer self catering accommodation near the beach. Further self catering accommodation is available in Newquay holiday cottages.

Parking is extremely limited near the beach and parking at West Pentire, under a mile walk from Porth Joke, is recommended. Access to the beach is a little difficult for the less able-bodied. There are no toilets or other facilities near the beach.
