The beaches of Perran Sands, Penhale Sands and Perranporth combine at low tide to form a stretch of sand reaching north from Perranporth to Ligger Point, the other side of which is Holywell Bay. Perran Sands Beach is a popular surfing venue, and a good family beach.
The west-facing sand and pebble beach is backed by sand dunes and cliffs. Newquay town centre is just 8 miles north of Perranporth by road and boasts a range of fine family and surfing beaches.
Self catering holiday accommodation is available in Perranporth holiday cottages. Further afield, Cornwall holiday makers will find more self catering accommodation options in St Agnes (4 miles by road), Newquay (8 miles) and Truro (9 miles) holiday cottages.
Car parking and further facilities can be found at Perranporth, at the south of the beach. Lifeguards patrol the beach in the peak summer season. Perran Sands is a dog-friendly beach.
