Polkerris Beach lies in the sheltered harbour of Polkerris, a small and picturesque village in south east Cornwall, around 2 miles from Fowey and 6 miles from St Austell. It is a sandy, south west facing beach overlooking St Austell Bay, with a stone quay providing shelter.
Boasting a host of facilities including watersports equipment hire and tuition, toilets, a café, shop and pub, Polkerris is an ideal family beach. The crescent-shaped beach is easily accessed via a slipway.
The St Austell area of Cornwall provides a wide range of holiday accommodation options, including holiday cottages in St Austell itself, Fowey holiday cottages and self catering accommodation in several attractive smaller villages such as Carlyon Bay and Charlestown.
Polkerris is easily found by car, close to Par’s mainline railway station and within easy travelling distance of several of Cornwall’s finest attractions such as the Eden Project, Charlestown Shipwreck & Heritage Centre and the Lost Gardens of Heligan. The car park is only a short walk from the beach. There is restricted access for dogs on the beach from Easter to October.
