Par Sands Beach is south-facing and located between St Austell (6 miles by road) and Fowey (3 miles), within easy travelling distance of some of Cornwall’s top attractions – The Eden Project (2 miles), Charlestown (3 miles) and the Lost Gardens of Heligan (7 miles).
Stretching over half a mile long and backed by sand dunes, Par Sands Beach is a popular destination for families, and is a particularly pleasant location for a tranquil seaside picnic. At high tide some of the beach’s wide expanse of sand is covered, but a significant portion remains. The relatively shallow waters off the beach are safe to bathe, though care should still be taken. Carlyon Bay Beach lies 2 miles west of Par Sands.
Self catering holiday accommodation is in plentiful supply in the area. Holiday cottages are available to rent in the local towns of Par, Carlyon Bay and Charlestown. Of the larger towns, holiday cottages in Fowey and St Austell holiday cottages are recommended.
A car park is situated adjacent to the beach, from which there is easy access to the beach. Facilities at the beach include a shop, café, pub and toilets. Dogs are permitted on Par Sands beach all year.
