Lantic Bay beach lies in a sheltered, hidden cove in south east Cornwall, around 1½ miles from both Fowey and Polruan, and 4 miles from Polperro. Lantic Bay is a south-facing ‘sun trap’ beach with white sands and some shingle.
Access to the beach, via a steep cliff path, is very difficult and as such is inaccessible to wheelchairs or pushchairs. Because of the difficulty of access, Lantic is normally a very quiet beach. Fine views from the beach take in the impressive Pencarrow Head.
Lantic is a dog-friendly beach. The nearest (National Trust) car parks are a 15-20 walk from the beach. The nearest toilets are also some distance from the beach, at the outer-most car park, and there are no shops or cafés. The frequent strong rip currents in the bay are dangerous, so swimming is not recommended.
