Charlestown beach is a south-east facing sand and pebble beach near St Austell, Cornwall. It sits outside a historic harbour, host to one of Cornwall’s top tourist attractions, Charlestown Shipwreck & Heritage Centre.

Nearby beaches include Porthpean and Duporth, both of which can be reached from Charlestown on foot via the South West Coast Path, which offers fine views of St Austell Bay.

Holiday cottages in Charlestown offer self catering holiday accommodation near the beach. Other self catering opportunities nearby include holiday cottages in St Austell (approximately 2 miles from Charlestown by road), Mevagissey (6 miles) and Fowey (7 miles).

Facilities at the beach include a small car park, cafés, pubs, restaurants and toilets. There is disabled access to the south side of the beach. Dogs are not permitted on Charlestown Beach.

We realised that something with the same comforting feel, like the coffee shop, that was open all day and night would be a great addition to Charlestown.
