Tavern beach is a small, south-facing beach situated below the Tresanton Hotel in St Mawes. It is a popular family beach with wonderful views of St Mawes bay. A good swimming beach with clear waters, windsurfing is also possible given the right conditions.
Located in the centre of St Mawes on the Roseland Peninsula, there are numerous facilities and amenities near Tavern beach, including shops and cafés, and a large car park. A picturesque small harbour town, St Mawes boasts fine sea views and a 16th Century castle. A ferry service links St Mawes to Falmouth.
Dogs are not permitted on the beach in the peak summer months. To the other side of St Mawes’ harbour wall lies the larger Summers Beach.
