The largest beach in St Mawes, Summers beach is a south-west-facing, largely pebbled beach, with rock pools to explore at low tide. Like neighbouring Tavern Beach, on the other side of the harbour wall, it boasts wonderful views of St Mawes bay.

Summers Beach, St Mawes

There are several St Mawes holiday cottages providing holiday accommodation. To the north, holiday cottages are also available in St Just in Roseland.

Sailing courses are run from the beach by St Mawes Sailing Club. Access is via a public slipway, where small craft are launched, or via steps. There is a large public car park in the town. Dogs are not permitted on the beach in the peak summer months.

St Mawes is located on the Roseland Peninsula and is a picturesque harbour town with numerous facilities and amenities including shops, cafés and a 16th Century castle. A ferry service links St Mawes to Falmouth.

  1. The club caters for a diverse range of classes ranging from Optimist dinghies to yachts and cruisers. Weekly racing combined with regattas and championships keep sailors busy on the water, while the clubhouse, with its beautiful views over the harbour, keeps members fed and watered off the water.
