Summerleaze Beach is the principal beach of Bude, Cornwall. Summerleaze is a north west-facing beach, which is particularly popular with families, who enjoy the wide, open stretches of sand within minutes of Bude town centre. A breakwater provides natural shelter for the beach.
Summerleaze can be easily accessed directly from the beach’s large car park. Facilities at the beach include disabled access, café, toilets, watersports equipment hire and RNLI shop. Lifeguards patrol the beach in peak seasons. Dogs must be kept on leads during daytimes from May to September. Further attractions and facilities can be found in the town centre of Bude.
Bude holiday cottages provide self catering holiday options. Widemouth Bay Beach lies miles 4½ to the south of Bude by road. Cornwall holiday-makers will find further self catering accommodation in Widemouth Bay holiday cottages.
A partly natural sea pool provides a convenient, clean swimming area. Surfers of varying experience enjoy the waters off the beach, but care should be taken with hidden rocks on the north side of the beach and over the pool at high tide.
